I Couldn't Stop!!!

From the moment I picked up "When Sparrows Fall" by Meg Moseley, I couldn't stop reading it. I'm so glad my husband was working nights at the time because he helped with the kids. A great read all around. It has everything a good book needs. There is crime, death, mystery, and romance.

A Christian, single mom of 6 living in the middle of nowhere is trying to survive while running from her past, present, and her likely future. She is so devoted to her children and doesn't want anything or anyone to break up her household. Her only family that she has known, since her husband died 2 years before, is the church. Miranda just got word from her pastor that he wants to move the whole congregation to a new town. She doesn't want to move off the family's land, but she is getting pressured by her pastor and his "word from God." She changes her children's guardianship papers in case anything should happen. Later that week Miranda's has a terrible accident. That brings Jack into the picture. All kinds of secrets turn up throughout the story. Which is why you have to read it all at once!

A Conversation Worth Having

I've always had a list of questions for God in my head. Then I would tell myself that one day He would give me the answer when He thinks I'm ready for it. Maybe I won't be ready for it, and maybe I won't like the answer, but if God says it, it is so.

I didn't know if I was going to enjoy this book at first. I actually did! Most of the questions in the book are geared towards new believers in Christ who need a clearer understanding of the Bible and what God is teaching us through scripture. The more mature Christians can definitely use this book to freshen up on topics they may have forgotten or even use as a reference book for studies. I know I was reminded of things I had forgotten while reading this book.

The chapters are split up into different categories. There are questions about God, Jesus, the Bible, the future, heaven and hell, etc. I love how they have it set up like that. This way if you don't have time to read the whole book, you can read from certain topics. And then the way they answer the questions...it's like watching a talk show. The Biblical View with special guests God, His son Jesus, their friend Paul, and many others. They have it layed out with us the "viewer" asking the question and them answering with biblical truth to back up their answers. Alton Gansky did a great job making things easily understandable.

Our Amazing God-Now Tell Your Kids

I really enjoyed reading "God Gave Us So Much" by Lisa Tawn Bergren.  I was most amazed to find out that the book I received to review was a 3 in 1!  The kids and I were very excited about getting this book, and started reading it as soon as we got it out of the package. The 1st story in the book was about how God made everything and everyone one in the world. He made us all special in our own little ways. Which is very important for children and adults to understand! My 7 yr old loved all the questions that Little Cub kept asking. The 2nd story was all about LOVE...awwww. It helped explain to my children that love isn't just a boyfriend/girlfriend or mommy/daddy love. God created us to love as He loves us, even when sisters make us mad. It explains that there is nothing you can do to make God NOT love you. Such a good story! The last story in the book talks about heaven. Speaks of what heaven will be like. I don't know about anyone else, but after that story I am ready for Jesus to come back NOW..hehe! The kids and I enjoyed these stories so much! I love all the information packed into it that is easy for children to understand. It's a great way to start conversing with our children about God.  The only thing I didn't like was that the pronouns for God were not capitalized. That's just the editor gene in me though.
